40th Anniversary Tour

The 40th Anniversary Tour is an ongoing concert tour by Dream Theater celebrating 40 years since their inception. The tour initially took place from Oct. 20, 2024 to Jul. 29, 2025, an additional leg taking place across Asia and Australia was announced and is set to take place from Jan. 27, 2026 to Mar. 3, 2026, this additional leg will take place after the North American of the Parasomnia Tour. This is the band's first tour with Mike Portnoy on drums since he left Dream Theater following the release of Black Clouds & Silver Linings in 2009, its subsequent tour cycle in 2010, and his return to the band in October 2023.

Trivia[]

This tour marks the first time that songs from Images and Words other than Pull Me Under have regularly been in the setlist since the Images, Words and Beyond World Tour in 2017
- All Images and Words songs were played in their original keys, as opposed to a semitone lower, like the band did during 2017.
At the final show of the tour's North American leg (Radio City Music Hall), the band debuted The Best of Times as part of the encore. With its performance, every song from Portnoy's first tenure with the band has finally been played live.
