Cleaning Out the Closet is the fourth fan club CD released by Dream Theater, which was released in 1999. The album is ostensibly a collection of rare tracks and b-sides, chronicling the songs that did not make it onto Images and Words, Awake and Falling Into Infinity. It also has the earliest footage of Jordan Rudess as a member of Dream Theater, as part of a CD-ROM extra.

- The instruments on Don't Look Past Me come from an audition tape with John Hendricks, and James LaBrie recorded overdubs for this release
- To Live Forever '91 comes from the ATCO Demos made for the label
- Both songs were later included on the Images and Words Demos official bootleg
To Live Forever '94 and Eve were recorded during the Awake sessions
- To Live Forever '94 was included on the Lie single and later on Greatest Hit.
- Eve was included on the single for The Silent Man and on a bonus disc on Awake's Japanese version
Raise the Knife, Where Are You Now?, The Way It Used to Be, Cover My Eyes, and Speak to Me were recorded during the Falling Into Infinity sessions.
