Distant Memories - Live in London is the ninth live album by Dream Theater, recorded from February 21st-22nd, 2020 at the Hammersmith Eventim Apollo Theatre during their Distance Over Time Tour, which also celebrated the 20th anniversary of the release of Metropolis, Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory. It was released on digital, CD, DVD, Blu-Ray and vinyl on November 27th, 2020. On September 25th, 2020, a live version of Pale Blue Dot was released on the band's YouTube, followed by a live version of Scene Three: II. Fatal Tragedy on November 6th, 2020. This is the band's third and final live release to feature Mike Mangini, and the band's first live album since Breaking the Fourth Wall in 2014.

Trivia[]

  • This album marks the first time A Nightmare to Remember has ever been included on a live release by the band. The only other album it is found on is Black Clouds & Silver Linings.
  • This album marks the first appearance of In the Presence of Enemies on a live release since Chaos in Motion: 2007–2008, released back in 2008.
  • This is the second live album to include a full performance of Scenes From a Memory, the other one being Live Scenes from New York, released in 2000.
